Opachi by Venini

The Venini Opachi Vase is a timeless expression of Murano glass artistry and modern Italian design. Created by renowned designer Tobia Scarpa, the Opachi collection emerged in the 1960s as a sophisticated reinterpretation of traditional Venetian glassmaking through minimalist forms and monochromatic elegance.

Handcrafted by master artisans in Murano, the vase is produced using the traditional glass-blowing technique, followed by a delicate sandblasted finish that gives the glass its distinctive matte appearance. This refined surface treatment softens the color while emphasizing the sculptural purity of the design.

The Opachi series represents the evolution of a design dialogue within the Venini house. Earlier in the 1940s, Carlo Scarpa experimented with forms inspired by Oriental porcelain traditions, and in the following decades Tobia Scarpa continued this exploration with his own interpretation of elegant monochrome shapes. The Opachi vases embody this heritage by combining historical influence with modern design clarity.
