Description

The Venini “Geacolor” Vase is a celebrated design masterpiece created by architect and designer Gae Aulenti in 1995. Part of the renowned Geacolor collection, it embodies Venini’s experimental approach to color, form, and artisanal glassmaking.

Handcrafted in Murano by master glassmakers, the vase is produced using traditional blown glass techniques combined with advanced decorative methods such as “mano volante” and “riporto a caldo”. These processes allow molten colors to be applied and guided by hand, creating irregular patterns and organic textures that are impossible to replicate.

The result is a sculptural object where color becomes structure. Its multicolored surface is never static—shifting with light, angle, and perception—so that every viewing reveals a different visual experience. No two pieces are ever identical, making each vase a unique artistic expression.

Gae Aulenti’s vision transforms the object into a living composition: expressive, irregular, and deeply tactile. The Geacolor vase reflects her architectural sensibility, where experimentation and material honesty define beauty.
