The Pezzato is a sculptural Murano glass vase that celebrates one of the most innovative decorative techniques in Venetian glassmaking. Produced by Venini, a historic Murano glass house renowned for artistic collaborations and technical excellence, this tall vase stands as a luminous statement of color and craftsmanship.

The Pezzato Technique

The Pezzato technique—meaning “patchwork” in Italian—was pioneered in the early 1950s by designer Fulvio Bianconi during his collaboration with Venini.

Unlike traditional Murano decoration methods, Pezzato involves assembling numerous colored glass pieces before the blowing process. These fragments are carefully arranged into a mosaic-like composition and fused with molten glass, creating vibrant geometric color fields across the surface of the object.

The result is a surface full of movement, contrast, and depth where each colored segment contributes to the overall harmony of the piece.

Handmade in Murano

Each Pezzato vase is individually crafted by Murano glass masters using traditional Venetian glassmaking techniques. Because the colored fragments are manually assembled, every piece is unique, making each vase both a decorative object and a collectible work of art.
